Its been quite some time since I’ve published a post. Not for the dearth of topics, there is the sectarian violence in Orissa, the senseless stand-off in J&K, the mindless protest against the nano in West Bengal etcetera etcetera.

I haven’t written a thing because there’s too many things that are happening at the same time in my life. There’s too much hectic activity in my professional life, and I hardly get time to sit and form a post properly in my head.

A few more days, then I will respond to the tag so graciously given by Miss Feline Musings, and also churn out a couple of ad reviews. But till then, don’t forget the empty head

In my case, the Red October is not a nuke powered sub. I am searching for a JD761 series laptop battery to power my Dell Inspiron battery.

I had purchased my laptop when I was in the US last year, and one year later its battery died. Now I am faced with the near impossible task of locating a battery for my laptop. Dell’s India site sells laptops, but I guess they are not really interesting in supplying battery replacements for their laptops. The original 6-cell battery is crappy anyways, to top it now, I cannot find a replacement.

Though I am in contact with some computer dealers in Nehru Place to see if I can get a battery via them. I am still waiting for them to get back to me, but till then, my laptop is pretty much dead. With the amount of powercuts happening in India’s own New York (gurgaon) and the lack of power backup at my place, it gets dangerous to run a laptop without a battery.

As of now, I am waiting. If I get no response in the next few days, I may have to bite the bullet and spend 185$ for a Dell branded battery from the US.

If you know a place to buy Dell Inspiron batteries in India, or have got one yourself, please share the info.

I was reminded of this Samuel Taylor Coleridge classic today morning, quite rudely I must say, by my housekeeper. Intentional or not, she ended up emptying almost a litre of water on my bed. I found this out almost half an hour after she left, when I was about to plant my rear on the bed to write a post(that comes up next).

And my bed is usually where my laptop, camera, wireless keyboard, my books, all co-exist. Thankfully my laptop and camera were spared from the watery deluge. The keyboard is really wet, and now I am using the laptop keyboard after a while.

And I type this sitting on the hard wooden board of the bed. The mattress, the pillows, the sheets, everything is soaked.

I guess my Sunday is going to be more fun than I thought!
